DiapOTB installation under QGIS 3.38?

Hi all,
I am new to OTB and especially interested in SAR data analysis.

Context

I am trying to install DiapOTB and am only scratching the surface of software installation.

Configuration setup

My system: Windows10
Version of OTB: *9.0.0 installed with QGIS
QGIS version: 3.38 Grenoble
Python version: 3.8

Description of my issue

Can diapotb be run with my configuration? Or do I need to fall back to an older version? Where can I find some docs? I have a strong background in SAR, but with other open source and COTS software.

Thanks for your help,
Greetings,
Corinna

Dear Corinna,
Thank you for Using OTB and DiapOTB.

I don’t maintain DiapOTB, but I will try to help you out. First, the current version of DiapOTB (2.0.1) is not packaged in OTB (it’s a long story). It should come with the next release of OTB, since a lot of work is currently done to make it happen.

If you really need that version of DiapOTB, you will have to compile DiapOTB with your current OTB version (9.0.0).

But if you are not conformable with the compilation process, I suggest you install the stand-alone version of OTB 7.4.2, because DiapOTB 1.1.0 is packaged with this version of OTB (once OTB7.4.2 is installed, you can use DiapOTB).
To do so, you can download this zip file and unzip it in the installation directory. You will need Python 3.5, since it is an old version of OTB.

The complete installation procedure is described here.
The configuration of QGIS is there

I hope it helps.
Best regards,
Julien Osman

DiapOTB’s documentation seems to be very sparse…
You will find some basic information in the README file of the project. And some information in the project’s wiki.
